Focus
on Buenos Aires
Founded
in the 16th century, Buenos Aires has a fascinating and turbulent
history. Despite its ups and downs, the city has always been an
important commercial and cultural hub in the Southern Hemisphere
and remains so today. Argentina suffered a severe economic crisis
at the turn of the 21st century, but is experiencing a remarkable
recovery that has been underway for the last several years. This
is a great time to see a great city in its ascendance, with everything
one would expect in a modern world-class capital city — museums,
music, shopping, beautiful city parks, and more. Of course, one
can’t mention Buenos Aires without acknowledging its special
contribution to dance and music — the Tango!
